- To use Blackboard Collaborate successfully here are a few tips:
- Make sure you have a headset that has a microphone.
- Have a webcam if possible on your laptop or computer.
- Log-on 5-10 minutes ahead of time in order to make sure you have your system set-up. The moderators will jump on about 20 minutes prior to the meeting to help answer questions and get participants set-up.

Thursday, October 4: Len Stob “Mission-Directed Boards”
Leonard Stob has served Christian schools throughout his adult life. With degrees from Calvin College (MI) and Concordia University-River Forest (IL), he has work as a teacher, principal, and superintendent in five states. He has 25 years of service as a head of school for communities in California, Florida and Indiana. From 2004 through 2011 Leonard Stob was head of school for Ontario Christian School in California. Currently, he is President of Esther Educational Group, Inc. This organization owns Community Christian College which is now located in six inner city locations in Southern California. EEG’s plan is to provide Christian junior college education, research, guidance and strategic planning to partnering churches, educational and community development organizations in impoverished and developing cities and nations. As a consultant, he frequently provides educational presentations, workshops and consultation on topics such as mission-directed governance, strategic planning, financial sustainability, mission-directed curriculum, Christian educational philosophy, educational leadership, school measurement, and school-head evaluation. Thursday, December 6: Dan Beerens “Innovation and Curriculum”
Dan Beerens is an educational consultant in K-12 Christian education whose mission is to strengthen Christian day school education. He is an author, international speaker, and educational leader. Before starting DB Consulting in May 2010, he served as Vice President of Learning Services and Director of Instructional Improvement at Christian Schools International from 2006 to 2010, and as a building principal and then Director of Curriculum and Instruction with Holland Christian Schools from 1993 to 2006. Prior to Holland Christian, Dan served as teacher and principal in urban and suburban public and Christian schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. He holds a B.S. degree in special education from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from National – Louis University in Evanston, Illinois.
He has made multiple presentations on teacher evaluation and professional growth, curriculum design, school improvement, technology integration, faith integrated learning, and student faith development at regional, national and international conferences. He is the author of “Evaluating Teachers for Professional Growth: Creating a Culture of Motivation and Learning” published by Corwin Press in January 2000. Dan served as the 2007 President of the Midwest Christian Educators Association and also served as a board member of the Kuyers Institute for Christian Teaching and Learning at Calvin College.
